Position Description
This position requires an individual who is passionate about the use of IT to improve healthcare and looking to expand their professional experiences and qualifications. We are looking for an intermediate technical analyst with strong foundation of business and technical analysis, looking to grow into a senior consultant with specialization in one or more of the following:
Solution Architecture
Information Security
Interoperability Standards
The successful candidate will be able to collect business and technical requirements from multiple sources, and then critically evaluate information gathered, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying business and technical needs. This individual interprets business and technical needs and translates them into design artifacts such as solution architectures, and standards implementation guides. In addition, this role requires excellent client and stakeholder relationships by being approachable, solution oriented, and empathetic to the needs of others.
Job Requirements:
Responsible for eliciting and documenting technical requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and task and workflow analysis.
Analyze and compare system design artifacts (e.g., logical solution architectures, HL7 interface implementation guides, etc.)
Apply basic UML and BPMN to analyse and create the most common structural diagram types (Use Case, Logical Model, Class and Object Diagrams, Interaction Diagrams, etc.).
Contribute to procurement responses through estimation of work effort and time, deliverable and service descriptions, etc.
Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Ability to interact professionally with diverse groups of executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
Travel to client sites within pre-negotiated parameters.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Undergraduate or post-secondary degree in computer sciences, health informatics or equivalent experience and other undergraduate degree.
Healthcare domain experience (e.g. experience in primary care, acute care, lab, pharmacy, etc.)
3 or more years of technical or business analysis experience in healthcare IT system design (requirements elicitation, coordinating and contributing to technical solution design sessions, contribute to the documenting of solution designs)
Experience with Healthcare IT system implementation (e.g., developing test strategies, plans, and test cases;
Experience with HL7 standards (e.g., FHIR, v2, CDA, v3, etc.) and terminologies (e.g., SNOMED CT, LOINC, etc.) considered an asset
Ability to work independently under the direction of project managers.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively deal with remote teams and users.
Ability to travel.
