Position purpose:
Reporting to the Manager, Academic Accommodations, the incumbent helps the Manager and unit leaders to coordinate and manage the implementation of all continuous improvement plans and projects so as to meet planned deadlines. They provide leadership and expert advice in designing a proper management framework for projects and initiatives. You will propose tools, practices and processes to ensure optimal performance.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
Project management: Establish a project management framework for all projects to support management with the implementation of project plans and ensure the sound management of improvement projects, including continuous process improvement. Develop, manage and implement, in collaboration with unit managers, project plans taking into account key project management components (e.g. objectives, risk analysis, procedures, budgets, schedules, performance indicators, contingency plans).
Performance management: Establish a dashboard of performance indicators for visualizing and analyzing raw data to identify issues, challenges and trends. Identify relevant performance indicators for data analysis, develop data collection tools, coordinate data collection, analyze data and track performance indicators. Write performance management reports and propose recommendations to the management team to support informed decision-making and guide continuous and sustainable improvement efforts.
Continuous improvement: Facilitate focus groups and work sessions with stakeholder representatives (e.g., members of the student community, faculty and support staff, external partners) aimed at identifying outcomes, processes and procedures to be improved and the means to achieve them. Develop working practices, processes and tools to support management with the implementation of a continuous improvement culture.
Evidence-based research: Be on the lookout for best practices in order to recommend and implement operational improvements within the sector. Prepare reports and make recommendations to sector management to guide development strategy. Keep abreast of best practices in project management, organizational performance and the evaluation of programs, initiatives and processes in order to effectively support the management team in its efforts to create and consolidate a culture of sound management, continuous improvement, professional responsibility and accountability.
What you will bring:
Project management knowledge normally acquired through post-secondary training
At least five years\' relevant experience in project management and performance management
Experience in process development, review and documentation (Lean Six Sigma training an asset)
Proven experience in preparing and facilitating presentations and working sessions with a variety of audiences, of different sizes.
Skills and aptitudes: planning, initiative, customer focus, teamwork and collaboration, environmental awareness, critical thinking, oral and written communication, self-awareness and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, on multiple projects simultaneously, and to meet strict deadlines.
Good capacity for analysis, synthesis and rigor
Good ability to write reports and make recommendations
Bilingualism - French and English (oral and written)
