The Burnside Group of Companies is currently seeking an Intermediate Project Engineer to join our growing team at our Winnipeg office location.

Our group works on a diverse range of projects and sectors, including residential, ICI and Mixed-Use developments for Private clients and First Nations, maintaining strong relationships with both major builders and local developers. You'll have the opportunity to engage with clients from concept to completion, helping their visions become reality.



About the Role:





As a key member of our team, you'll be a point of contact for clients on various projects. Your responsibilities will include:


Participating in, or leading, design strategy at the outset of a project; Preparation of reports and detailed designs including functional and detailed design of stormwater management, water distribution, storm and sanitary collection, earthworks, site plans and lot grading for land development and related projects; Providing technical guidance to junior and support staff; Preparing a wide variety of documents including proposals, workplans, schedules, technical memorandums, meeting minutes, technical specifications, and reports; Collaborating with and contributing to multi-office design teams to ensure project delivery successfully meets the needs of clients; Producing detailed engineering design documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D Travel for client and agency meetings, and occasional site visits Support other internal Burnside project teams in other sectors when needed Specific to project management, your responsibilities may include: + Developing strong relationships with clients and identifying new business opportunities
+ Ensuring project schedules, deadlines, and budgets are communicated and met;
+ Attend and lead meetings with Clients and/or approval agencies as necessary to advance project objectives;
+ Ensuring appropriate QA/QC practices are implemented, consistent with Burnside practices;
+ Ensuring timely delivery of project deliverables and maintain all aspects of project financial administration and performance.

Professional Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications





The following qualifications, experience and skills are required:


Minimum bachelor's degree in civil engineering. Professional Engineer. Consideration will be given to high performing candidates eligible to attain Professional Engineering designation within one year of start date with the Company. Registered or eligible to register immediately with the Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM). 5-10 years of relevant design and project experience in subdivision design, water distribution modeling, sewer design, and stormwater management. Strong knowledge of municipal and provincial review processes and standards. Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to manage multiple projects and lead staff teams effectively. Valid Manitoba or Ontario driver's license and vehicle.

Additional Assets:




Project management experience and/or relevant formal project management training (PMP designation or similar) Attendance at conferences & seminars including the preparation and presentation of technical papers and projects of interest Field services and contract administration experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project.
