Job Description

Job Title: Intermediate Piping Designer

Join an established leader in engineering, fabrication, and construction of gas compression, gas processing, and heavy oil facilities. This role will involve advancing the development of products related to the decarbonization of energy production, providing comprehensive engineering services and modular fabrication capacity integrated with complete construction services. You will design and build industry-leading hydrocarbon processing facilities for global installation.
Responsibilities

  • Carry out moderate-to-advanced tasks under supervision related to layout and design of process equipment modules for oil and gas processing facilities.
  • Create and develop 3D models and piping designs.
  • Assist in the creation and development of detailed designs of structural steel skids and pipe supports.
  • Revise existing designs based on vendor drawings and changes from stress analysis updates.
  • Manage design information and assemble checking packages.
  • Create and develop layout drawings and detailing of piping.
  • Produce piping isometrics, structural drawings, and fabrication drawings.
  • Receive and review design data and vendor information.
  • Calculate piping components and pre-order materials.
  • Receive and incorporate design specifics from Engineering and other disciplines.
  • Collaborate with Piping Checkers, Mechanical Engineering, and Fabrication Shop.
  • Provide weekly progress and status reports to Lead Designer.
  • Assist design leads and senior designers as required.
  • Assist and provide project-related training to junior personnel as needed.
Essential Skills
  • 5+ years of experience as a piping designer using CadWorx.
  • 5+ years of experience working with ASME B31.3.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and CadWorx.
  • Strong skills in relevant software (mention specific software if applicable).
  • Strong design skills in piping systems, structural supports, and pressure vessels.
  • Diploma in Engineering Design Drafting Technology (EDDT) or Process Piping Design (PPD) certificate, or equivalent training and experience.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Fabrication experience is highly preferred.
  • Understanding of design and drafting practices for piping components.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with relevant software tools (mention specific software if applicable).
  • Fabrication shop designing experience is an asset.
Work Environment
Work full-time in an office setting with the design group, contributing to a challenging yet rewarding environment where growth and learning within a team are encouraged. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
