Intermediate IT Administrator - Collaborative, On-Site Role
Reports to: IT & Security Manager
Location: On-site in Tillsonburg, ON, with remote support for Concord, ON and White City, SK
This is a hands-on, multi-faceted opportunity for an IT professional who enjoys teamwork and supporting users across various systems and networking tasks. Every day brings new challenges, and you will work closely with the IT & Security Manager to support IT operations across our locations. This role is ideal for someone who wants to grow their skills in a collaborative environment while contributing to keeping our infrastructure and users running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
Support and maintain
Windows Server environments
(Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy).
Assist in
monitoring and maintaining firewalls
(e.g., Fortinet, Cisco) under IT security guidelines.
Troubleshoot
network connectivity issues
, including
VLANs, routing, VPNs, and wireless infrastructure
.
Provide
helpdesk and technical support
to employees for hardware, software, and network issues.
Support
IT security measures
, including firewall configurations, endpoint security, and vulnerability management.
Assist in
network infrastructure maintenance
, including switches, routers, cabling, and physical server setups.
Work on IT projects such as
system migrations, upgrades, and security enhancements
as directed.
Document IT procedures, troubleshooting steps, and system configurations.
Ensure compliance with industry
security standards (NIST, CMMC, ISO 27001)
as part of the IT team.
Responsibilities will be prioritized and assigned by the IT & Security Manager to support ongoing projects and daily operational needs.
Qualifications & Skills:
1+ years of experience in
network and system administration
(Windows & Linux environments).
Hands-on experience with firewalls, network troubleshooting, and security best practices is considered an asset.
Knowledge of
TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs
.
Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (Azure, Office 365) is considered an asset.
Strong
problem-solving skills
with the ability to diagnose and resolve IT issues efficiently.
Ability to
lift and install IT hardware
(servers, switches, cabling, setup PC's, move desks) as needed.
Willingness and ability to occasionally adjust working hours or respond to critical IT issues outside of standard business hours when required to support operational needs.
