Our team in Canada is growing, we are currently recruiting for a Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer to join any one of our offices in Canada
In this role, your primary task will be to oversee geotechnical engineering designs for mining project facilities including tailings management, waste rock storage, and heap leach pad facilities, ore stockpiles. You will be also leading the design of ground support and groundwater control for open pits, dams, slopes of cuttings and earthfills, engage in the design of earthworks for roads, working platforms, water dams, and foundation design for mining infrastructure components. You will also provide support on closure plans and other aspects of mining operations.
About the role
\xc2\xb7 To be experienced users of AutoCAD and Autodesk CIVIL 3D for geotechnical/mining projects,
\xc2\xb7 To participate in topographical, geotechnical, hydrogeological, hydrological, and seismic hazard and site response analyses,
\xc2\xb7 To provide support in the design of geotechnical works, soil structures, and civil structures, among others, related to foundation design, pile design, and others.
\xc2\xb7 To prepare factual and design reports
\xc2\xb7 To participate in client meetings
\xc2\xb7 To spearhead the preparation of proposals, cost estimates, and project timelines, driving the planning, field support, and successful completion of geotechnical site investigations.
\xc2\xb7 To assume responsibility for crafting geotechnical studies and engineering reports, and deliver recommendations on various geotechnical aspects within projects based on in-depth studies and project-specific work.
\xc2\xb7 To evaluate and interpret data obtained from geotechnical instrumentation and testing programs, offering design recommendations and parameters for the analysis and design of structural foundations through meticulous report review and composition.
\xc2\xb7 To collaborate effectively with engineering colleagues on geotechnical consulting projects.
\xc2\xb7 To facilitate the exchange of technical knowledge across geographical boundaries to inspire innovative solutions for project challenges.
Qualifications
About you
\xc2\xb7 Professional designation including P.Eng. and/or P.Geo with at least 5 years of experience in the design of tailings management facilities, waste rock storage facilities, heap leach pads, stockpiles, open pits, dams, slopes, earthwork, roads, platforms, water dams, among other mining infrastructure components.
\xc2\xb7 Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D and GIS Tools (Arc GIS or QGIS).
\xc2\xb7 Proficiency in Geostudio, Rocsience, Bentley tools (Plaxis), to perform stability analyses, seepage, deformation, dynamic analysis, geothermal and others.
\xc2\xb7 Experience in seismic hazard and site response analyses.
\xc2\xb7 Experience generating civil-mining drawings, earthworks, and Material Take-off sheets (MTOs)
\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated experience with proposal preparation, project delivery, and client development.
\xc2\xb7 Experience preparing factual and design reports, including technical specifications.
\xc2\xb7 Experience designing and implementing geotechnical field investigations.
\xc2\xb7 Excellent communication skills.
\xc2\xb7 Ability to work on multiple projects and meet established deadlines,
\xc2\xb7 Strong people skills and a desire and ability to work in a team environment and independently.
