We are looking for a dedicated and diligent

Fisheries Biologist

to join Ecofish Research Ltd. and Minnow Environmental, both Trinity Consultants Canada Teams. This position can be based out of any of our office locations.

WONDERING WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?





Your role will require you to bring a high standard of scientific excellence to your daily work. The following responsibilities will be in your domain.


Planning, and implementing projects across Canada with a focus on the characterization and assessment of fish habitat, fish communities, and fish population health. Integration of other elements of aquatic environmental health assessment will also be required, including geomorphology, limnology, hydrology, water and sediment quality, and lower trophic level biology. Summarizing and analyzing data to draw conclusions on environmental conditions and effects on fish health or communities Documenting results in written reports. Assisting Senior Project Managers with components of large multi-disciplinary projects and providing subject matter expertise in fish and fish habitat science. Working as a member of a multidisciplinary team, taking the lead on specific tasks, taking direction from others, and collaborating with your colleagues to maximize work productivity and quality.



THE QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR.




Advanced degree in a relevant field. R.P.Bio. or eligible. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including fish collection using various methods, fish community characterization, and collection and interpretation of fish population and health data. Experience in fish habitat characterization in support of Fisheries Act Authorizations and knowledge of habitat needs for Canadian freshwater fish species. Effective analytical and technical writing skills, and ability to produce high quality reports and proposals. Excellent time management, organizational, and multi-tasking skills. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality, excellence, and ethics. Competent with Microsoft programs and statistical software packages. Experience in the mining sector an asset.
