Intermediate Environmental Professional (remediation Consulting)

Job Description




You will interface with clients and staff to set up, manage and report on environmental services related to upstream and mid-stream oil gas and facilities and regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Regional District Manager, the Intermediate Environmental Professional will build and maintain positive client relationship focused on providing top quality service in a variety of environmental programs.

You will bring more than 5+ years of relevant environmental science or engineering experience in the Oil and Gas sector.

This role is permanent and will be 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off. Camp and travel provided. Working in the Fort St. John area.

Candidates can be based out of Fort St. John, Grande Prairie, Edmonton, or Kelowna.

What would you be doing?

  • Coordinate and lead field programs within the remediation practice areas. Cross training is important as some practice area scopes of work are seasonal.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical support to junior professionals.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, landowners/stakeholders, and regulators.
  • Provide detailed project management and reporting support.
Does this sound like you?
  • Technical Diploma or University Degree in environmental science/engineering or related discipline.
  • Eligibility for or carry a current professional designation as a Professional Agrologist, Biologist, or Engineering/Geoscience.
  • Experienced in leading and overseeing environmental assessment and remediation projects, including contractor supervision, sample selection for laboratory analysis, surface reclamation and vegetation management.
  • Knowledgeable of provincial environmental regulations, policies and guidelines or technical guidance documents.
  • Have experience with and can safely operate light duty trucks and have a valid class 5 driver\xe2\x80\x99s licence.
  • Excellent vegetation identification and soil characterization skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Proficiency in planning and control of work in a multi-project, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to develop meaningful working relationships with individuals from a variety of diverse.
  • Able to prioritize work, multi-task and adapt to changing priorities in a fast paced, high volume team environment.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving with a strong ability to take initiative.
  • Views health and safety as a priority.
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal communication required.
