Job Description

Hycroft is currently seeking a Intermediate Electrical/Controls Engineer to join our team. Reporting to the Project Manager, the Intermediate Electrical/Controls Engineer is responsible for developing safe engineering solutions by using professional judgement in developing designs, analyzing issues and resolving problems, and interpreting engineering specifications. The Intermediate Electrical/Controls Engineer will assist the Project Manager to ensure jobs are completed safely, on time, and within the budget according to the scope. The position is a hybrid role, based both remotely and in Surrey, BC.

Key Responsibilities:



Receives direction from the Lead Electrical Engineer or Project Manager, however can operate with a high degree of independence, while ensuring work is done as per the specs and standards of our clients. Develop electrical system designs for primarily heavy industrial facilities including but not limited to:

Power distribution (480 V - 138 kV) Motor control including MV VFDs Emergency/islanded power generation Uninterruptable power systems
You will be responsible for:

Leading or actively contributing to Internal/external design meetings Brownfield and greenfield electrical system designs Power system studies Design coordination with other disciplines Equipment specification, tendering and bid evaluation Quality control Basic project management support, including work plans and scheduling Reporting, scheduling, and time management Basic client communication management Develop workplans, scheduling and budgets Ensure all engineering work is performed in accordance with client standards Prepare detailed analysis, design, and project deliverables including drawings, specifications and reports Effectively communicates with the project manager(s), team members, clients, and other stakeholders at all stages of a project to identify and address problems and bottlenecks Site visits to facilities and project sites, if required Prepares project documents - scheduling, project plans, scope documents, RFI's, extra-scope forms, CWPs, and meeting minutes to project stakeholders

Requirements:



Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Required) Authorized to work in Canada (Required) 3-4+ years experience in Electrical Engineering Consulting Extensive knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code Familiarity with P&ID's, and other process related documentation Solid knowledge of electrical design software: AutoCAD required Excellent Organizational and time management skills Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (including MS Teams and experience with MS Project) Exceptional Interpersonal and communication skills- both written and verbal
