Job Description

Position: Intermediate Electrical Engineer (Must have electrical distribution systems design review experience)
Location: Toronto, Hybrid
Job Type: Contract

Our client, a leading utility organization is seeking a dynamic individual for the role of Intermediate Electrical Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of tasks to ensure the efficient functioning of primary electrical projects. Key responsibilities include operational design reviews, load transfer studies, and active participation in contingency planning.

Main Duties:

- Collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including Engineering, Stations, and Distribution Services groups, in the planning, design, and construction of primary electrical distribution plant
- Conduct reviews of engineering, technical, or business reports and studies, performing analysis, testing, and evaluations
- Provide timely technical support and consultation, demonstrating effective project management and process efficiencies
- Develop and present business proposals, plans, designs, processes, operational procedures, and practices
- Undertake reliability investigations and studies, preparing reports with recommendations
- Act as a catalyst for the adoption and continual use of standards across the organization in design and construction stages
- Potentially lead teams or projects as needed
- Contribute to the implementation of corporate goals
- Analyze and determine appropriate actions to improve and optimize grid operations and reliability

Requirements:

- University degree in Engineering, with a focus on Electrical Engineering
- 2-5 years of Engineering experience, preferably in utility industry operations
- Experience with various distribution systems commonly used in urban environments, encompassing capital, maintenance, and customer supply projects
- Familiarity with distribution system configurations, electrical design, and specifications review
- Knowledge of Protection and Control and station configurations
- Valid class \xe2\x80\x9cG\xe2\x80\x9d driver\'s license recommended
- Proficient in the application of operational technology, including SCADA, CAD, AM/FM, NMS, engineering records, and specialized engineering application software - bonus
