IBI Group's Markham location is searching for a Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join its growing Water Facilities team.

As an Electrical Engineer you will be participating electrical systems' design for water and wastewater utilities including pumping stations, reservoirs and treatment facilities.

As a member of the multidisciplinary design team you will engaged in the preliminary and detailed design of electrical systems for new installations and upgrades to existing systems for water and waste water utilities.

Most of the Things You'll Work On:

• Prepare detail design drawings, specifications and cost estimates for electrical systems including:
• Low and medium voltage power distribution and motor control centres
• Backup hardwired control systems
• Local equipment control panels
• Standby power systems including diesel generators
• Energy monitoring systems including CTs and power monitors
• Substations
• Grounding systems
• Building/utility power interconnection
• Building services (lighting, security, fire, etc.)

• Prepare electrical condition assessments including the development of technical memorandum/reports and capital cost estimates.
• Participate in the development of Process Control Narratives, P&ID drawings, Operations and Maintenance Manuals and Training Manuals.
• Assist in the development of proposals and cost estimates.
• Prepare electrical design calculations during preliminary and detailed design
• Provide support during construction including responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, conducting site inspections, preparing and reviewing test/commissioning plans and participating in system testing.
• Coordinate the design of electrical systems with the internal multidisciplinary team, manufacturers/vendors and client.

Qualifications

You'll need to have:

• Professional Engineer of Ontario in good standing with 5 to 10 years of experience in the design of electrical systems for water and wastewater utilities.
• Bachelor of Electrical Engineering
• Strong skills in the use of CAD systems including AutoCad and Microstation
• Strong skills in the use of the REVIT modeling system or a willingness to learn REVIT is required
• Strong working knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Code, Ontario Building Code, Ontario Fire Code and applicable NFPA standards
• Strong written and verbal communications skills

We are currently in a work from home model during COVID-19 but when we do return to the office we're located at 8133 Warden Avenue, Unit 300, Markham, ON, L6G IB3, Canada.
