IBI Groups, Toronto West office is searching for an Electrical Engineer to join its growing team. As an Electrical Engineer you will be participating in the electrical systems' building design on the electrical project team. The incumbent will be working on progressive and large scale transportation, industrial & commercial projects.

Most of the things you'll work on:

• Prepare electrical designs and drawings of building facilities, high voltage substations and building electrical systems including power, lighting, fire alarm, PA, IT, etc., using computer-aided tools (e.g. EDSA and ETAP analytical software, GEDS grounding software, AutoCad, Microstation and REVIT CAD systems)
• Assist to identify cost-effective solutions to design problems
• Lead electrical design teams on larger multi-discipline projects
• Liaise internally with project managers and other discipline project leaders to obtain project information and to discuss specific design related problems
• Assist in creating and presenting technical reports in regards to the nature, status, and results of design or study assignments
• Ability to recognize the implications of assigned work on the work of other disciplines, and ensures the necessary coordination occurs

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 5-7 years' experience in buildings electrical systems design preferred in a consulting or utility environment.
• Must have or be eligible for the P. Eng. designation in Ontario
• Previous high voltage power and P & C design preparation & estimating related experience is an asset
• Strong skills in the use of the REVIT modelling system is an asset
• Electrical design and specification experience in the following building systems: power distribution in buildings, lighting design, fire alarm systems, card access and camera security systems, PA systems, telecommunications systems and audio-visual systems
• Strong knowledge and understanding of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code
• Strong written and verbal communications skills

Additional Information

We are currently exclusively on a work from home model during COVID-19. On return to office, we are located at Toronto West at 175 Galaxy Boulevard.
