Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled

Intermediate Draftsperson

with experience in modular building and expertise in Revit to join our dynamic design team. The successful candidate will create detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and construction documentation to support the design and fabrication of modular structures, with a focus on integrating mechanical and electrical systems. This role requires a strong understanding of modular construction principles, proficiency in Revit, and knowledge of mechanical and electrical design.

Key Responsibilities

Develop detailed 2D and 3D drawings, plans, and specifications for modular building projects using Revit. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure designs meet client requirements, building codes, and industry standards. Prepare construction documentation, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and shop drawings for modular components, incorporating mechanical and electrical systems. Assist in the design and optimization of modular building systems, ensuring seamless integration of mechanical (e.g., HVAC, plumbing) and electrical (e.g., lighting, power) components. Review and revise drawings based on feedback from project stakeholders and site conditions. Ensure compliance with local building codes, zoning regulations, and modular construction standards. Support the production team by providing accurate drawings and technical guidance during fabrication and assembly. Maintain organized project files and documentation for seamless workflow and project tracking. Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies related to modular construction and building systems.
Qualifications

Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field. 3-5 years of drafting experience, with at least 2 years focused on modular building or prefabricated construction. Advanced proficiency in Revit, with experience in creating detailed models and documentation for modular projects; familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) is required. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems (e.g., HVAC, plumbing) and electrical systems (e.g., power distribution, lighting) in building design. Understanding of Canadian building codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., National Building Code of Canada). Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, high-quality drawings. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience with 3D rendering or visualization tools (e.g., Lumion, Enscape) is a plus. Familiarity with sustainable design principles and green building standards (e.g., LEED, Passive House) is an advantage.
