Job Summary

The Intermediate Drafting Technologist will complete drafting of electrical distribution systems and preparing electronic (CAD) working plans for various residential, commercial and industrial projects.

Education & Qualifications

3-7 years of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation drafting experience. Experience drafting power distribution systems would be considered an asset. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications would be considered an asset. Electrical Design & Drafting Technology or Engineering Design Technology Diploma or CAD Certificate from a recognized technical institution. First aid and CPR certification would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

Draft underground and overhead power distribution systems using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation. Draft traffic signal, lighting and electrical drawings using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation. Utilize knowledge of design standards and procedures when completing drawings and deliverables to client and industry specifications. Create single line diagrams, electrical layouts, schematics and wiring. Conduct drawing reviews and corrections including following QAQC processes. Support the project team in delivering high quality client service. Collaborate with senior designers and engineers for support and development on more challenging tasks. Work closely with senior team members to support and mentor more junior team members. Ensure all safety procedures and processes are followed with the goal of zero injury. Work safely and follow all rules and procedures including attending and participating in safety meetings and completing all required safety orientation and training. Completion of other relevant duties as required.

Position Conditions

* Job is performed in an office environment but site travel may occasionally be required depending on the project.
