Job Description

Reporting to the applicable Engineering Supervisor, this position performs daily Engineering activities within their group. This person provides technical support to internal Argus Departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:



Perform preliminary Engineering Calculations. Assist with the training of new hires and provide on-going training for Engineering personnel Promote professional development within the Engineering Department. Check engineering documents including drawings, specifications, processes and procedures under assigned portfolio; signing drawings as required. Provide resolution for Non-Conformance Reports (NCR). Provide technical support to internal Argus departments. Assist with design and development of new products and custom engineered solutions. Improve and expand upon existing products and custom engineered solutions. Openly share ideas on continuous improvement opportunities or refinements to be more efficient while maintaining and/or elevating the existing levels of quality and safety. Participate and provide feedback on training sessions, toolbox meetings and events. Ensure that all products, services and processes are developed and delivered in a safe and efficient manner. Work in a safe manner; always look out for both yourself and fellow employees. Report all safety concerns, incidents and accidents per Argus Safety Program. Champion Continuous Improvement culture; actively promoting continuous improvement principles through respectful discussion and participation in events.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:



Diploma in Engineering Technology with a specialization in Engineering Design and Drafting or Mechanical Engineering Technology preferred. Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.). Eligible for membership in ASET. 2+ years progressive experience in product design and manufacturing. Competent in using computer software related to design; knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks software is an asset. An understanding of applicable regulatory requirements and industry practices. General knowledge of products and services in relation to the oil and gas industry. Knowledge of safe work practices, Quality Assurance requirements, and Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing) principles.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



Office environment, extended sitting & computer use. Working wearing personal protective equipment on the shop floor.
