Who we are looking for:
Exceed Electrical Engineering is seeking an Intermediate to Senior Controls Systems Engineer or Technologist
with
3-6 years experience
in control systems design, project management and trouble shooting. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing system designs, programming and commissioning while effectively managing clients relationships and project deliverables.
This role involves onsite troubleshooting across a variety of control system architectures including industrial networks. Experience with processes such as water and wastewater treatment, materials handling, pumping systems, and other industrial applications will be considered a strong asset.

Your Role at Exceed Electrical Engineering:
Collaborate with the Exceed team at initial conceptual design phase of through to project close out. In this role you will develop and revise technical specifications for clients, interpret and review control schematics, identify and correct design discrepancies, provide schematic markups, and preform reverse engineering of control systems as required.
Design electrical control panels and control systems
Programming PLC's and HMI's
Perform testing and verification of system functionality during FAT and SAT
Travel throughout the province to conduct field reviews, meet with clients, troubleshoot system issues, and commission projects
Support junior engineers and designers with technical issues
Attend client meetings, record and understand client requirements
What you bring to Exceed Electrical Engineering
Engineers: Bachelor of Applied Science or Bachelor of Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution with a focus on Electrical Engineering.
Technologists: Two-year (or longer) Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of 3-6 years
of experience working in an electrical & controls environment
Professional Registration:
Engineers
must have registration with, or eligible to be registered with Engineers and Geoscientists of B.C. and have P.Eng. status or be in the process of obtaining P.Eng. status.
Technologists
must have registration with, or eligible to be registers with Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia
Strong mechanical aptitude and a hands-on approach to problem solving
Effective oral and written communication skills
Strong computer proficiency and programming capabilities
Proficiency in PLC programming, including Schneider Modicon, Allen Bradley and Siemens platforms
Proficiency with HMI software such as iFix, FactoryTalk, WinCC and VTScada
Solid understanding of networking principals including switching and routing; firewall experience considered an asset
Good working knowledge of virtualized environments
Ability to quickly establish and maintain strong working relationship with clients
Demonstrated entrepreneurial work ethic
