Your Impact:

We are looking for an Intermediate Level Contract Administrator to add to our Water and Wastewater construction management team in Ottawa, Ontario. Join our team and work alongside our technical experts to assist in delivering high-quality projects to our water and wastewater municipal clients.

The role will involve overseeing that construction is executed in accordance with the project contract drawings and specifications. Working under general supervision of a Construction Manager, you will evaluate, select, and apply construction administration techniques, procedures, and criteria. You will be responsible for coordinating ongoing construction activities and resolving issues with multiple stakeholders, including the client and their team, the general contractor and their subcontractors, and our own team. As contract administrator you will interface with the Jacobs team, in particular the project manager, site inspector, assistant contract administrator, and the engineering team. The role will also include maintenance of adequate records of construction activities, preparation of reports, and working with the engineering design team to coordinate correspondence such as shop drawing reviews, requests for information, and site instructions. Hybrid work environment, with a combination of work from home and in office attendance typically once per week. Here\xe2\x80\x99s What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Need:

  • 5 to 7 years of construction-related work experience.
  • Engineering Technology or Engineering College diploma or University degree in mechanical, environmental, chemical, civil, or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of construction practices and principles.
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary construction activities. Particular experience with either the design, site inspection, or contract administration related to mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation and control systems would each be considered assets.
  • Highly organized with the ability maintain accurate information and to effectively manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary project teams to resolve construction issues in a timely manner.
  • Ability to maintain a record of contract change orders and field changes on a set of contract documents
  • Ability to maintain a record of construction deficiencies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced interpersonal skills to work with clients and project teams
  • Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas with a passion for construction of infrastructure and building projects.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suites
  • Valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and a personal vehicle to drive to sites
