The Group is seeking a Senior Civil-Structural Engineer to join a team dedicated to studies primarily for hydroelectric projects.

As a Civil-Structural Engineer, you will work within the engineering team of the Clean Energy Business Unit for the analysis, design and rehabilitation of structures for various dams, hydraulic structures, buildings and bridges projects in the hydroelectric field.

How will you contribute to the team?

• Perform engineering work following SNC-Lavalin QA programs, and applicable codes, standards, and regulation requirements;
• Involve conceptual, preliminary and/or detailed design of structural systems involving steel, reinforcing concrete, or masonry elements;
• Perform structural and seismic analysis including both static and dynamic analysis, and produce analysis report;
• Prepare engineering computations and analyses using applicable software program (e.g., SAP2000, CSiCol; Mathcad, CADAM3D, ANSYS, etc.);
• Provide technical guidance and instruction to Designers/Drafters;
• Perform field walkdowns during different design phases as required;
• Assist field construction and execution activities, such as: field changes, design revisions;

• Complete the assigned scopes or tasks within given budget and schedule, and in good quality.

What will you contribute?

• Civil-structural engineer from 5 to 10 years of experience focused on steel and reinforced concrete design heavy industrial projects; registered or be eligible for EGBC P.Eng. registration.
• Good mathematical skills, scientific and critical thinking, quantitative and problem-solving abilities, paid attention to details.
• Detailed design drawings development, technical specification writing, shop drawings review, preparing reports, designs and drawings.
• Making calculations about loads and stresses, selecting appropriate construction materials, providing technical advice, monitoring and inspecting work undertaken by drafters.
• Apply excellent verbal communication skills, technical sketching and preliminary drafting work.
• Experience in hydropower industry will be considered as a great asset specifically focusing on the design of water conveyances, open channels, tunnels, penstocks, intakes, and water outlet structures and lining systems.
