Our Opportunity Our Calgary division is seeking an Intermediate Civil Engineer to join the team. As the successful candidate, you will have the opportunity to plan, coordinate and execute the design of a wide variety of civil projects. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Engineering design for construction of heavy industrial O&G development and mining projects
  • Participate in execution of preliminary and detailed design for engineering projects, which may include:
    • delivering design drawing packages and technical specifications
    • preparing material take-offs and tenders
    • attending site visits
    • completing analysis and calculations
    • performing design reviews
    • preparing correspondence, reports, proposals, expressions of interest, and more
  • Communicate with clients, agencies, stakeholders, and the public
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to assist in delivery of work within allotted schedules and budgets to high quality standards
  • Mentor new and junior engineers and designers
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Must be registered (or eligible to register) as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in provinces and territories of Canada
  • 5+ years’ experience in design of:
  • water related structures (i.e. ponds, culverts, weir, outfall, and fish passage structures)
  • other structures such as roads, buried pipelines, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience with application of AB/Canadian engineering standards
  • Strong project management, technical and analytical skills
  • Strong technical writing skills; experienced in the preparation of correspondence, reports and proposals
  • Ability to work independently and guide the team and participate in technical discussions
  • Effective verbal communicator, including presentation, facilitation and listening skills
  • Strategic, analytical, optimistic and practical thinker
