We are seeking an Intermediate Architectural Coordinator to support our Chief Architect and development team on multiple residential and commercial projects.
This role focuses on design coordination, municipal submissions, and consultant management -- ideal for someone with an architectural background who enjoys working on the developer side, ensuring that designs meet project objectives, city requirements, and construction realities.
You will help translate design intent into approvals and execution by working closely with external consultants, planners, and city staff.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Documentation Coordination
Review and coordinate consultant drawings (architectural, landscape, civil, structural, etc.) for alignment with our development objectives and municipal requirements.
Assist the Chief Architect with drawing updates, markups, and responses to planning or building permit comments.
Track and organize drawing submissions and revisions through planning, SPA, and building permit stages.
Support the preparation of internal presentation packages and submission documentation.
Municipal & Consultant Liaison
Coordinate with planners and municipal staff to address technical comments, zoning, and approval requirements.
Attend meetings with city departments and consultants as needed.
Prepare documentation and correspondence for site plan applications, resubmissions, and permit coordination.
Development Support
Work with the team to ensure design and technical deliverables align with project schedules.
Participate in internal coordination meetings to discuss status, risks, and next steps for each project.
Provide technical assistance during tender and construction phases, including reviewing shop drawings and change requests.
Quality & Compliance
Verify that consultant submissions comply with the Ontario Building Code, municipal standards, and Regency's internal quality expectations.
Support value engineering and constructability reviews under the Chief Architect's guidance.
Qualifications
An undergraduate degree in Architecture or related field is mandatory.
5-10 years of experience in architecture, design coordination, or development.
Strong understanding of planning and permitting processes (SPA, zoning, building permit).
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (basic level), and Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop).
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Experience liaising with city staff or responding to planning/building comments is a strong asset.
Knowledge of OBC, zoning bylaws, and construction drawings required.
Experience on the developer or builder side is preferred but not mandatory.
