The Opportunity:

Architecture49Inc. is currently seeking an Intermediate Architect.

A day in the life:

• Develop basis of design, design criteria, room data sheets, scope of work documents, RFI\xe2\x80\x99s etc. to determine the requirements of facilities and document input from the stakeholders.
• Design buildings, urban realm, pedestrian tunnels, pedestrian bridges, platforms, ancillary facilities, etc. using BIM and CAD technology to convey the design intent.
• Determine and coordinate modelling work, setup and procedure for architectural disciplines. Lead designers and assist in coordinating BIM issues that will arise regarding visibility, and production of sheets for all disciplines as other disciplines will use architectural backgrounds and vice versa.
• Produce, and coordinate architectural construction drawings for all buildings and facilities. Using Revit and coordinating with disciplines that use C3D.
• Produce and review the work of the designers in the model production and sheets output.
• Coordinate design with all other building disciplines, communicate with the required team members to complete the design. Using BIM360, ProjectWise, ACC, SharePoint or similar software.
• Research materials, products and technologies required for the design and incorporate into the details, and specifications.
• Assist in the production technical specifications for architectural components, provide input and coordinate with specifications of other disciplines and the front end.
• Assist in the production of reports, memoranda to document design strategy, design review or design restrictions. CPTED reports, Accessibility reviews memos, design brief, etc.
• Produce and coordinate graphics required for presentations, reports, renderings, isometrics, consultation material, potentially marketing material, etc. Ability to use Illustrator, Photoshop, Enscape, V-ray, Sketch-up, Lumion and similar software.

What you\'ll bring to A49...

• Hold a professional designation with OAA, OALA, ARIDO and other applicable professions; or ability to be licensed with these organizations.
• 2+ years experience delivering BIM projects supervising work in Revit, C3D, OpenBuildings Designer and CDE platforms such as ProjectWise, BIM360 or ACC.
• Experience working with north American design requirements, regulations, climatic conditions, etc.
• Experience delivering work in multi-disciplinary environment. Inter-disciplinary coordination is expected at all stages of the design.
• Experience producing architectural design deliverables for concept, schematic, detail and construction document stages of the project.
• Experience delivering construction drawing sets for industrial, transit or infrastructure projects.
• Experience with building codes and regulations applicable to infrastructure work: OBC 3.13, OBC, NFPA 130, NFPA 101, OHSA, CSA B61, CSA S478, etc.
