About the Opportunity



Working closely with internal teams, you will be accountable for assessing, evaluating and making decisions about risks for both new and existing business.

Responsibilities & what you'll be doing:



Review and assess new business submissions and applications Quote new business by assessing the risk, pricing, choosing the appropriate Insurer, preparing final quote and sending it to the broker; Assess market options and underwrite in-house or send as Offer & Accept business to Domestic or Lloyds Markets. Obtaining all required documents and signatures for binding of risks; Re-evaluate and re-underwrite renewals with up-to-date information obtained from Brokers Assess market options and underwrite in-house or as Offer & Accept business to Domestic or Lloyds Markets. Establish and maintain professional working relationships with brokers and market underwriters, through clear communication via phone or e-mail.

Essential Qualifications:



The ideal candidate will be a highly self-motivated individual and collaborator who is client focused, proactive in dealing with situations and uses critical judgment to make decisions and offer solutions. The person will also demonstrate the following:

Post-Secondary degree or diploma in a related field, such as mathematics, finance, commerce, business or equivalent experience;

Underwriting assistant experience (an asset); Prior underwriting experience in commercial liability. Property (an asset) Experience with referrals to domestic markets and Lloyds of London (an asset) RIBO license, or ability to get licensed within 6 months of employment CIP (an asset); Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; Service-oriented written and verbal communication skills; Effective problem solver with initiative to be innovative and creative with developing new ideas and concepts; Strong organizational skills, including multi-tasking and attention to detail; Committed to team-based environments; Proven ability to handle confidential material with the highest level of discretion; Autonomous (comfortable working with minimal supervision) while in the office and working from home;

Pay: $50,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
