Join a top employer and advance your career. Aplin has partnered with a Downtown Vancouver, BC based company to hire an Intermediate Accountant! This will be a 3-month contract with the potential for an extension.

Benefits & Perks

• Compensation up to $50/hour
• Note - this is a fully on-site role in Downtown Vancouver
• No paid parking but easily accessible by transit
• Monday to Friday with the option for a 9am or 10am start

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledger entries, journal entries, and bank reconciliations
• Assist in the monthly and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Analyze financial statements and reports to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for improvement
• Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insights and recommendations to management
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including processing invoices, payments, and collections
• Reconcile and verify the accuracy of accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations
• Assist in the preparation of regulatory and tax compliance filings
• Maintain a strong understanding of relevant accounting standards and regulations, implementing changes as needed
• Contribute to process improvements within the accounting department to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Provide assistance in developing and implementing internal controls to safeguard company assets

Qualifications

• Bachelor\'s Degree in Accounting or Finance is a must
• Must have over 3 years of experience in accounting
• Must have IFRS experience and understand the policy
• Experience with IFRS 9 or IFRS15 is an asset
• Enrolled or completing CPA Designation
• Must be proficient in MS Office including Excel (Pivot Tables, Vlookups and Formulas)
• Must be proficient in SAGE, myob, desktop enterprise or any other ERP
