About the Role

InvestX is currently looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join our dynamic Finance Team in Vancouver. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role will be primarily involved in the day-to-day accounting functions such as posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, managing accounts payable. This role will also be assisting the team on preparing monthly reporting packages, quarterly/annual financial statements and consolidations.

Location: Vancouver, BC

Responsibilities:

  • Perform reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, journal entries
  • Maintain and process Accounts Payables and Accounts Receivables
  • Preparation of regular external filings, such as GST/HST/PST, WorkSafeBC
  • Perform reporting and remittances and maintain bookkeeping
  • Process payroll, sales commissions, and employee expense reports
  • Preparation of working papers and perform required steps for each month-end financial statement closing cycle
  • Assist with quarterly/annual financial statement preparation and consolidation
  • Maintain Inventory and Marketable Securities schedule, perform monthly mark to market
  • Assist with audit and preparation of fiscal year-end audit working papers
  • Communicate regularly with other members of our company, our advisors and clients, government agencies and other third parties
  • Other responsibilities and ad hoc requests as directed by the team
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in the related field is required
  • 2 years of hands-on experience in an Accounting related role
  • Working towards CPA designation would be an asset
  • Excellent Excel skills and experience with using Quickbooks and other operating/accounting software
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and able to prioritize tasks
  • Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively within a team and have excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to foster effective working relationships internally across the organization and externally
  • Highly organized, with the ability to prioritize and multi-tasking, resilient under pressure
  • Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable in a high performance and deadline oriented working culture
  • Positive work ethic, ability to work independently whilst in a collaborative team environment
  • Must be a Canadian Citizen, or have Permanent Resident (PR)
  • A Criminal Record Check and Credit Check is required for this position
