Job Description

General Accountability:



Manage financial processes and ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting for the organization, maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, and collaborating with various departments to support the company's overall financial health, maintaining integral and ethical conduct.

Purchasing Roles & Responsibilities:



1. Financial Reporting:



Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements by Canadian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information to internal and external stakeholders. Provide support for all reporting requirements including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing.

General Ledger Management

:

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. Post and review journal entries to ensure accuracy and completeness.
3.

Banking management activities:



Bank Reconciliations. Bank transfers and record deposits coming from customers. Day-to-day banking issues and procedures.

4. Budgeting and Forecasting:



Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets and forecasts. Analyze variances between actual results and budgeted/forecast amounts.

5. Financial Analysis:



Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning. Provide insights on key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial trends.

6. Tax Compliance:



Responsible for all sales taxes and other company external administrative costs such as licenses, fees, WCB, etc. Prepare and file corporate tax returns in compliance with Canadian tax regulations. Stay updated on changes in tax laws and ensure the organization's adherence to tax requirements.

7. Audit Support:



Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial audits. Prepare working papers for year-end review/audit reviewed by the controller. Provide necessary documentation and explanations to support audit processes.

8. Accounts Payable and Receivable:



Supervise accounts payable coding, and accounts receivable. Supervise the posting of account payable invoices by branch and provide training where required. Ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections.

9. Compliance and Regulation:



Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, laws, and regulations. Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets.

10. Financial Systems Management:



Utilize and maintain accounting software and financial systems. Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.

11. Interdepartmental Collaboration:



Collaborate with other departments, such as finance, payroll, operations, and management, to gather financial information and support strategic initiatives.

Qualifications & Requirements:



Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred or near completion.

5+ years of experience in corporate accounting

roles.

Strong knowledge of Canadian GAAP and tax regulations. Proficiency in ERP Systems and/or any other accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong Excel skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Well-developed planning, and problem-solving skills Detail-oriented, flexible, and highly motivated with a strong work ethic. Effective time-management and organizational skills, ability to multi-task. Strong strategic, continuous improvement mindset. Fluent in English.

Salary & Benefits:
