Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Intermediate Accountant to join our team in Toronto, Ontario. This is a long-term contract position offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial operations within the service industry. The role requires expertise in managing reconciliations, preparing accurate financial reports, and maintaining the integrity of accounting records.
Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review accurate financial statements and reports to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

• Perform account reconciliations and manage balances across multiple entities to maintain financial accuracy.

• Process and analyze transactions, including debits and credits, while ensuring proper documentation.

• Utilize accounting software such as Blackline and Sun Systems to pull trial balances and track financial data.

• Maintain and update records in Excel, ensuring that all data is organized and easily traceable.

• Ensure high-level reporting is clear and aligned with organizational goals.

• Support month-end and year-end closing activities by preparing necessary adjustments and reconciliations.

• Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial processes and reporting systems.

• Proven experience in accounting functions, including reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and accounts payable.

• Proficiency in accounting software such as Blackline, Sun Systems, and CaseWare.

• Strong skills in Excel, including the ability to organize and analyze large datasets.

• Excellent understanding of debits and credits, and their application in financial reporting.

• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to work on-site in Toronto, Ontario, five days a week.
