The Role



We are seeking an

Intermediate Accountant

to join our accounting and finance team. This role works directly with the Owner and Second-in-Command, while collaborating frequently with managers across all business units.

, offering a lot of variety and the opportunity to truly understand how each business operates. You'll use

Sage, QuickBooks, Excel, Google Sheets, and Google Drive

, and you'll help support our ongoing efforts to consolidate and streamline systems.

Key Responsibilities



Accounts Payable & Receivable



Full-cycle AP and AR processing across multiple locations and business types. Support weekly invoice processing and communicate with location managers as needed. Work closely with operations and store leadership to ensure smooth AP/AR workflows.

Treasury



Manage cash receipts, payments, and deposits for several entities. Reconcile bank accounts and prepare transfers and remittances. Ensure accurate financial data entry and tracking.

Accounting



Full-cycle accounting for multi-location retail and hospitality operations. Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments. Support costing, pricing updates, and operational financial analysis. Prepare & Assist with month-end and year-end close. Prepare weekly and monthly reports for leadership (AP, AR, working capital, location results, etc.).

Administration & Cross-Department Collaboration



Maintain accurate financial records in Sage, QuickBooks, and other based systems. Work with managers across coffee shops, pubs, liquor stores, gas stations, and property divisions. Support audits, government filings, and compliance requirements. Contribute to workflow improvements as the company moves toward more consolidated processes.

. You enjoy understanding the "why" behind the numbers and like working closely with non-finance teams. You're resourceful, curious, and comfortable handling both transactional work and more analytical responsibilities.

Ideal Qualifications



3+ years of progressive accounting experience (AP, AR, reconciliations, full-cycle). Experience with Sage, QuickBooks, Excel, and Google Sheets. Background in retail, hospitality, or multi-entity environments is an asset. Strong communication skills and ability to partner confidently with operations teams. Interested in process improvements, efficiency, and system consolidation. Formal accounting education; CPA pursuit is welcome and supported.
