Job Description

Join our passionate Interior Design team at Hariri Pontarini Architects, where creativity, technical excellence, and collaboration shape refined, meaningful and sustainable spaces.

We are currently seeking an Interior Designer, who brings a high level of design talent, technical skill, and team orientation to join and learn from our dynamic, creative, and collaborative Interior Design team. The individual in this role will possess excellent communication skills, strong aesthetic sense, technical proficiency, and experience managing projects.

As a crucial member of our interior design team, you will report to the Interior Design Manager or Interior Design Director depending on project scale. Your role will involve developing design concepts, preparing detailed drawings and specifications, selecting materials and finishes, and collaborating with the Interior Design team, studio members, consultants, and artisans on various project types in HPA's portfolio.

This is an office-based role that requires working at the Hariri Pontarini Architects' Toronto office Mon-Fri 9:00 am-6:00 pm EST.

Key responsibilities:



Work closely with the Interior Design team to understand established project parameters.

Develop and present creative interior design concepts that align with client requirements and project goals.

Prepare detailed drawings, floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings using industry-standard design software.

Select and specify materials, finishes, furnishings, and fixtures that enhance aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability.

Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants and contractors to ensure seamless integration of interior design elements.

Work within project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful execution from concept to completion.

Conduct site visits, coordinate with vendors, and address design challenges during construction and installation phases.

Stay updated on industry trends, building codes, and sustainable design practices to enhance project outcomes.

Develop and maintain client relationships, presenting design solutions effectively and incorporating feedback.

Assist with proposal development, marketing materials, and presentations to support business development initiatives.

Ensure all design documentation adheres to firm standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.



To achieve your objectives, you will have:



Degree or diploma in Interior Design from a recognized institution 3-5 years of professional experience in interior design or a related field, with a strong background in design development and project management Strong portfolio demonstrating creativity, conceptual strength, and execution across project phases Knowledge of Interior Design, Art and Architectural products and materials and ability to research the current trends Familiarity with construction documentation and detailing Knowledge of Ontario Building Code (or other regional codes, as applicable)

Technical Proficiency

Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite Working knowledge of Revit is a strong asset Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite, and SketchUp
