Position Summary

Aggregate Design Studio is a team of designers located in Blackfalds, Alberta, and consists of a dynamic group of Architectural Technologists and Interior Designers. The successful candidate will be a graduate of a recognized Interior Design university, college, or technical program.

Projects are mainly precast concrete construction, focusing on a broad spectrum of work, such as commercial, industrial, agricultural, and multi-story residential. You will work closely with a supportive team in a fast-paced work environment.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to produce high-quality detailed work based on established standards, guidelines, and procedures. Precise, consistent work output is essential with a willingness to handle and complete multiple projects at a time by utilizing Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Enscape.


  • Implementing designs into 3D model renderings and walkthrough videos.
  • Drafting finish plans, reflected ceiling plans, and other interior floor plans specifying design intent in REVIT and other supporting software.
  • Developing interior concepts, selecting finishes, and specifying features.
  • Developing finish, fixture, & other design specifying lists.
  • Meeting and Coordinating with Architectural, Sales, and Project Management teams throughout project timelines.
  • Delegating and Scheduling work for the Interior Design Technologist to meet project requirements and deadlines.
  • Analyze building codes, by-laws, space requirements, and other technical documents
  • Prepare CAD / BIM drawings from conceptual sketches and instructions
  • Communicate & Coordinate with various suppliers and trades to deliver appropriate design specifications.
  • Prepare design presentations. These presentations will contain a mix of drawings, 3D renderings, videos, and VR.
  • Resource Library maintenance and ongoing product knowledge; can include arranging Lunch and Learns for team members.
  • Sample pick up from suppliers (must have reliable vehicle)
  • Site visits during interior construction.
Assets
  • Experience in cabinetry design
  • Other niche work in the design industry experience (e.g., signage, flooring, lighting)
  • Understanding of design psychology
  • Experience in designing commercial, industrial, agricultural, and multi-residential interior spaces
  • Related experience in the construction industry
  • Experience with VR, HTC Vive and Enscape
  • Experience in managing or delegating work to others
  • An understanding of precast construction
Requirements
  • A valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and reliable transportation
  • Graduate from a recognized Interior Design university, college, or technical program
  • Proficient with AutoCAD or Revit, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to produce 3D renders for presentation purposes
  • Knowledge of Alberta\xe2\x80\x99s Building Codes / National Energy Codes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Available to work Monday to Friday, occasional Saturday
  • Minimum of 40 hours per week, must be flexible and willing to work overtime
  • Local to central Alberta or willing to relocate to central Alberta
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada. Currently, we are unable to sponsor international candidates.
