Job Description

Job description and tasks




In addition to regular teaching responsibilities, the role also includes:


Involvement in pedagogical days organized by the College Participation in departmental meetings Involvement in student-focused activities such as field trips, competitions, and year-end Graduate Exhibition. Performing other department related administrative duties





Required Qualifications




University or graduate degree in Interior Design or Architecture with five (5) years related experience OR Graduate from a three (3) year DEC program with seven (7) years appropriate professional experience Excellent English communication skills essential CAD knowledge/experience essential Freehand drawing and rendering skills essential

Note: The selection committee may, exceptionally, recommend to the College that pertinent additional professional and/or industry experience be considered in lieu of some of the stated minimum requirements. Education superior to the stated minimum requirement may be substituted for professional / industry experience.



Assets




General knowledge of French Broad-based industry experience (residential, commercial, public / concept to implementation / construction / project management) Teaching experience at the College or University level (and/or an interior design related vocational program, DVS/DEP or equivalent) Mentoring experience in a professional or educational environment. Modelling and/or B.I.M. software experience Experience with presentation/rendering software (Photoshop, InDesign, SketchUp, others) Involvement/membership with a professional design association(s) Professional development attestations and/or certificates (lighting, sustainability, historical restorations and other) Additional certifications (LEED, WELL, NCIDQ)
