About the Role:

As a member of the MediSystem Site Operations Supervisory Team, reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Pharmacist Team Lead will play a critical role to meet established quality and productivity goals in a fast-paced Long Term Care pharmaceutical production facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to work in an efficient and collaborative manner with direct staff and internal and external clients.
  • Provide sustained performance and engagement through effective leadership, utilizing a high level of integrity, communication and involvement.
  • Ensure that all pharmacy staff complies with all company policies and operating procedures (regulatory/legal requirements) to enable pharmacists to deliver pharmaceutical care.
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform Pharmacist duties when required.

  • Assess employee performance and recommend promotions in area of expertise.
  • Manage the Pharmacist/RPhT/Pharmacy Assistant department day shift operations to ensure staff have clear directions, have the required resources and are motivated towards meeting production schedules and departmental objective.
  • Establish/coordinate monthly and weekly production schedules and daily assignments of staff.
  • Responsible for staff hiring, employee engagement, health and safety and progressive discipline.
  • Train and supervise dispensary staff as required.
  • Complying with all federal and provincial pharmacy regulations, as well as identifying, investigating, correcting and documenting potential regulatory and safety problems.
  • Minimize medication incidents according to company policies and procedures. In the event of a medication incident follow protocol for reporting and investigation.
  • Patient privacy and confidentiality is protected in accordance with regulations.
  • Interact with customers on an as needed basis to address issues.
  • Troubleshoot situations that arise and determine resolution quickly to ensure minimal disruption to the assembly line during assigned shifts.
  • Coordinate, manage and effectively complete all administrative responsibilities. This would include time sheet, vacation coverage, incident and corrective action reports, review processes, etc.
  • Assist in ensuring timely and accurate completion of third-party processing, billing, re-submissions, and reporting.
  • Understand, meet and embrace the site/department operational budgets, while able to communicate and teach the fundamentals of fiscal responsibility and operational excellence.
  • Reviewing and reconcile reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Conduct information meetings for employees and/or Customers.
  • Participate in special projects to assist development goals and improve production processes to simplify procedures or reduce costs to the department.
Qualifications & Job Requirements:

Required:
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy
  • Currently licensed with the College of Pharmacists and in good standing
Preferred:
  • 3+ years proven hands-on experience in a major high volume manufacturing environment as a supervisor or team lead.
  • Currently licensed with the Ontario College of Pharmacists and in good standing
  • Change implementer - ability to develop a powerful sense of shared purpose in others and motivate them to embrace change; ability to develop, communicate and gain commitment from the organization to do things differently in order to obtain higher levels of performance; ability to assess talent and implement programs to raise baseline performance; adept at balancing data, personalities and positional power when influencing others.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
  • Proven experience building highly effective teams and a fun and rewarding culture.
  • Excellent communication, coaching and customer services skills.
  • Knowledge of all policies, procedures and duties related to customer service.
  • Excellent decision-making ability and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrable attention to detail
  • Must relate well to people with diverse personalities and styles, and is able to manage up, down, across and outside of the organization using tact and diplomacy.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively.
  • Strong MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.), Cloud computing \xe2\x80\x93 OneDrive/Google Drive, KROLL skills are preferred.
