Medicine Hat College is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Analyst to join our Financial Services team.

A little about the role:

Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Finance, this position plays a key role in supporting institutional decision-making by providing timely and accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. The Financial Analyst is responsible for preparing monthly financial statements, forecasts, and special reports for both internal and external stakeholders. This position also supports year-end preparation and audit processes, maintains key financial records, and provides guidance to various college departments and staff. The role contributes to the financial health of the institution by ensuring compliance with government reporting requirements and by supporting various strategic initiatives through financial analysis.

Details:

As a successful applicant you'll have:


Minimum Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; a degree is preferred. A minimum of three years of experience in financial analysis, reporting, or a similar role, preferably in a post-secondary or public sector environment. Proficiency in financial systems and reporting tools (experience with Financial Information Systems is an asset). Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines. Experience working with government reporting and audit preparation is an asset. Submission details:
