We are looking for a
hands-on Finance Manager
to cover a maternity leave. This is a full-time temporary contract where you will oversee all day-to-day finance operations and ensure smooth payroll, reporting, and compliance during a critical period of growth.
What You'll Do
Bookkeeping & Accounting
: Oversee full-cycle accounting including AR/AP, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.
Payroll
: Process payroll (bi-weekly) and ensure compliance with employment standards and benefit programs.
Financial Control
: Maintain accurate financial records, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and oversee internal controls.
Reporting
: Prepare monthly management reports, variance analysis, and board/investor reports.
Forecasting & Tax
: Support cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and tax accruals (GST, payroll, corporate).
Process Improvement
: Identify and implement opportunities to streamline finance processes.
What We're Looking For
Accounting designation (CPA) or equivalent experience preferred.
5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and Excel/Google Sheets (Katana ERP, Shopify experience an asset).
Experience processing payroll in-house.
Comfortable working in a small, fast-moving team environment.
Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work independently.

Contract term:
Approximately 12 months (maternity leave coverage). Exact start and end dates may vary depending on employee's leave.
Compensation:
$70,000-$80,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
Location:
On-site at our Edmonton International Airport office/warehouse (some hybrid flexibility may be considered).
