Accountabilities:

The successful candidates will join Nova Scotia Power\xe2\x80\x99s Energy Control Centre\xe2\x80\x99s Interconnection Operations Team in this newly created position. This resource will work towards setting up strong, streamlined and repeatable administrative processes for streamlining the intake of Interconnection requests/Applications; receiving and processing deposits that accompany requests; managing communications related to requests and managing the timing for each stage of the application queue to ensure stated timelines are adhered to. Detailed and reportable record keeping is paramount in this process. The coordinator will also be tasked with working in conjunction with the Interconnection Engineer(s) to ensure up to date records related to contact information and financial tracking for work completed in relation to each of the Interconnection requests are maintained. This tracking is necessary to appropriately process invoices, refunds, and account statements on behalf of Nova Scotia Power in relation to each Interconnection Customer. There is expected to be an element of planning and coordination for work requests in consultation with various work groups in Nova Scotia Power such as Transmission System Planning, Engineering teams, Field Resources, Telecom Resources as well as liaising with the Interconnection Customers.

You will work closely with the Interconnection Engineer(s) and report directly to the Manager, System Security Engineering.

The Interconnection Engineering team is responsible to manage and maintain all Interconnection Requests related to both Transmission and Distribution Interconnections from intake through to hand of to final construction (Capital Engineering) and commissioning and final completion for financial closure. The Interconnection process follows the NS Power Generation Interconnection Procedures which is a set of specific processes and procedures, agreements and forms for the various types of Customer Interconnection requests. There is a requirement to post specific information related to these processes and active requests on the NS Power OASIS (public facing) Web Site which will also be the responsibility of the Interconnection Coordination with support from the Interconnection Engineers. Adherence to the NS Power Standards of Conduct regulations is also required.

You will be requested to attend meetings as required and to produce status reports when necessary or as contribution to customer, statistical or audit requests.

You will be responsible for your personal safety and that of your co-workers by observing all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations. You will be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environmental management system processes and initiatives.

Skills, Capabilities and Experience:

  • You are a graduate of a Business Management Program from a recognized University or College which lends itself to general business operations coordination, administration, and management.
  • You are able to establish and maintain financial transactional records such as processing invoices, refunds and processing payments.
  • Appropriate translatable experience or exposure to NSPI Control Centre Operations and/or Systems Engineering Operations knowledge and work experience is an asset.
  • You possess strong oral and written communication skills, a strong customer service ethic, good interpersonal skills, and can function effectively in a team environment.
  • You are a self-starter with proven organizational and analytical skills.
  • You possess strong computer skills, attention to detail and be able to manage competing priorities.
  • You must demonstrate your commitment to personal development.
  • You must be available to support emergency power restoration work.
You must possess a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license.

Specific knowledge of NSPI Control Centre Operations and Interconnection processes are also considered assets.
