& Summary A career in our Internet Technology, Intellectual Property and Commercial Law practice, within Legal Services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients adopt a more strategic approach to global entity governance across their organisations. We help our clients and their legal entities with the incorporation of new companies, on going compliance with local legislation, and restructuring of their global businesses to manage governance and compliance risks.

Our team provides our clients with legal expertise related to Intellectual Property and Information Technology privacy and security in addition to contract review for commercial entities. You\xe2\x80\x99ll help our team support legal aspects such as transaction structuring and procurement, contract reviewing, drafting and negotiation, project implementation and exit arrangements.

Our newly created IP Consulting practice helps make meaningful sense of the IP capital of our clients and helps them translate their intangible IP assets into tangible IP value.We work with clients to provide clarity, awareness and increased visibility of their IP assets, gaining a stronger competitive position to make critical business decisions that elevate their brand, innovations and technology in support of their business strategy and growth plans.

As an IP Strategist, you\'ll work with and learn from our team of highly experienced Canadian IP professionals with significant industry and consulting experience with IP management, strategy and deals in North America, Asia and Europe. Learn more about us from our team page.

Meaningful work you\xe2\x80\x99ll be part of
As a Senior Associate you\xe2\x80\x99ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Conduct unique and substantive IP due diligence pre-investment as well as factoring diligence results in valuation and deal structures

Collaborate post-investment with portfolio companies\xe2\x80\x99 management to help identify, report, manage, enhance, monetize, securitize and acquire additional IP or technology assets

Assess and mitigate material risks as part of the overall business strategy

Build a portfolio of IP assets on the technology of PwC

Develop a knowledge of IP laws and regulations, in particular patent laws, trade secret laws, trademark laws and copyright laws

Collaborate with clients to understand their technology and its business relevance in the context of creation of IP assets for the purpose of licensing, deals, valuation, etc

Identify in the spectrum of technologies developed by a client, the technology aspects that should be protected by IP assets

Working with IP databases to perform IP analytical work, in particular IP landscape development

Analyze an IP asset portfolio to assess the commercial relevance of the individual IP assets and identify coverage gaps

Experiences and skills you\xe2\x80\x99ll use to solve

Hold a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a STEM field

Related experience in the Intellectual Property Consulting field

Passionate about technology and innovation

Possess a strong intellectual curiosity and desire for continuous learning

Strong business sense and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills

A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences and working alongside diverse people and perspectives
