We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries, and providing excellent customer service. Duties
Safely operate company vehicles, including lorries and vans, in compliance with road safety regulations.
Plan delivery routes efficiently to meet deadlines and optimise fuel consumption.
Load and unload goods, often requiring heavy lifting, ensuring items are secure during transit.
Deliver products to customers' premises accurately and courteously.
Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain necessary signatures or proof of delivery.
Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly.
Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules or issues.
Follow health and safety protocols at all times during deliveries.
Skills
Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role within commercial driving environments.
Valid driver's licence, preferably with a driver qualification or equivalent.
Experience with warehouse operations and handling heavy loads is advantageous.
Strong driving skills with a clean driving record.
Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with customers and team members.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
Organised with good time management skills to meet tight schedules.
Knowledge of local roads and traffic regulations is desirable. This position requires a dedicated individual capable of managing multiple deliveries efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety and customer service.
