Your Role in Supporting Our Members:



As an Integration Engineer, you will help modernize how financial systems connect securely, in real-time, and at scale. You'll contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of backend systems that integrate enterprise platforms, APIs, and third-party services. This role is ideal for someone with strong backend development experience who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is eager to grow their expertise in secure, scalable financial infrastructure


This is a full-time, permanent role based at Vancity head office and will report directly to the Manager, Enterprise Integration. Our head office is based in Vancouver, but we are open to candidates in BC and Ontario. While this position provides a hybrid work arrangement, you will be expected to be on-site for events and business demands when needed.

How You'll Make an Impact:


Contribute to Development

: Assist in building and maintaining backend integration solutions that connect enterprise platforms, APIs, and third-party services

Learn & Apply Best Practices

: Gain hands-on experience with secure, scalable coding practices, including authentication, encryption, and cloud-native development

Support Monitoring & Reliability

: Help implement logging, monitoring, and alerting tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana) to ensure system stability

Collaborate with the Team

: Work closely with senior engineers, product managers, and DevOps to deliver reliable integration features and enhancements

Continuous Growth

: Learn from mentorship, code reviews, and pair programming to strengthen technical skills in backend development and system integration

Problem-Solving

: Participate in troubleshooting, debugging, and testing to ensure smooth delivery of backend services

Stay Curious

: Explore emerging tools and technologies in APIs, integration, and cloud services, applying them under guidance when appropriate

What you'll bring to the team:



Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience) 5+ years of experience developing backend systems and APIs Basic understanding of APIs, web services, or database-driven applications Experience implementing and maintaining RESTful or GraphQL APIs with .NET, MuleSoft and Azure integration/API management platforms Proficient in backend programming languages used by the team (e.g., C#, Java, .NET, Python, Node.js) Familiar with databases (SQL/NoSQL), caching, and message queues Ability to collaborate effectively and contribute to design discussions, while learning from senior engineers Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and interest in learning cloud-native development Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, and a desire to grow in real-time integration and enterprise software Collaborative and growth mindset with good communication skills and openness to feedback/mentorship

Familiarity with financial industry compliance requirements Familiarity of version control (Git) and eagerness to learn CI/CD and DevOps practices Hands-on exposure to Runtime Fabric or containerized integration runtimes

What You'll Earn:



This role offers a salary range of

$81,200 to $122,000 per annum

. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements
