If you are passionate about leveraging technology to empower education, research and to drive institutional excellence, join us and be part of shaping the future of the University of Alberta through innovative IT solutions.PositionReporting to the Manager of Process Automation, the integration developer is an IST resource that contributes to the design, and is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of data and application integration solutions using the integration platforms of the university. To perform this role, the integration developer needs to have skills including but not limited to analytical thinking, design thinking, systems thinking, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and some measure of technical expertise.Duties

  • Design and implement effective integration solutions by analyzing business requirements, system requirements and workflows.
  • Develop and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable configurations and/or code.
  • Ensure the best possible performance and quality of integration solutions
  • Identify issues and devise solutions to mitigate and address these issues. Identify opportunities for improvements.
  • Develop and maintain work products that support knowledge capture and management for developed integration solutions
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of projects, programs, and operations that rely on integration capabilities
Minimum Qualifications
  • Post-secondary diploma in a relevant field, meaningful work experience delivering solutions in a technology enabled organization will also be considered
  • 3 years professional experience working in an environment with a structured IT portfolio and service offerings
  • Awareness of the functions of APIs and Web-based Services.
  • Some experience with programming languages and concepts
  • Some experience with structured data formats and data transformations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Post Secondary degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience with data modeling and use of Unified Modeling Language (UML).
  • Excellent knowledge and professional usage of data modeling tools.
  • Excellent knowledge of and professional experience with data integration tools.
  • Excellent knowledge and professional application of data flow diagrams, entity relationship diagrams, markup & notation languages.
  • Excellent knowledge and professional application of API Development, and Web-based Services.
  • Experience with integration platform development both message oriented middleware and API management
