TRC is removing barriers and increasing access to health and wellness services for young people ages 12-24 with a new initiative, Integrated Youth Hub. TRC is making it easier for young people to find support in their communities by offering:
Integrated mental health care;
Substance use services;
Physical and sexual health care;
Youth and peer support; and
Social services.
The Youth Support provides day to day support in drop-in and outreach settings for youth and offers support with service navigation, education and resource information, while providing individualized goal planning assistance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Develops trusting relationships with clients, utilizing a philosophy of youth driven life planning;
Assists clients in finding and accessing appropriate services and resources;
Helps identify barriers, and advocates for client services to reintegrate into the educational or vocational sector;
Meets regularly with clients to assess progress, working with the youth to adjust the program as necessary;
Facilitates/delivers meaningful engagement activities focused on building youths' capacity to advocate for themselves and their peers;
Works collaboratively as an advocate and liaison between clinical supports, TRC program team and community partners;
Supports youths' completion of questionnaires, applications, referral forms and other administrative tasks as necessary;
Collaborates with other members of the TRC program;
Assists with day-to-day Centre operations, programing and outreach; and
Provides day-to-day support to all members of the integrated service delivery team, TRC program team, partner agencies and clinical supervisors.
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in related field (Social Work, Psychology, Child and Youth Care)
2-3 years previous work experience with populations of youth one on one and in groups
Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills, written and presentation skills
Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to thoughtfully and effectively communicate with staff, volunteers and the public in a manner that is aligned with organization policies
Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable working with databases
Ability to set priorities, manage workloads and work independently with minimal supervision and work in a team setting
Knowledge of community and social service resources that support youth and families in Saint John is an asset
Written and spoken competence in English and French is considered an asset
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $24.00-$26.50 per hour
