About this opportunity:
The Integrated Control Safety System/Information Systems Technician (ICSS Technician) is responsible for Working as part of the team that ensures that all equipment is available to safely meet production and drilling targets. This role monitors and ensures system maintenance backlog is minimized and ensures all performance standard are met. These positions will start in the office in St. John\'s, NL, then rotate to Ingleside TX on a four week on and four week off rotation, and lastly transfer to offshore on a three week on three week off rotation.
Responsibilities:
Support the completion and commissioning of the West White Rose Platform in the Texas Fabrication Yard as well as offshore commissioning leading to a regular offshore rotation primarily on the Platform and SeaRose FPSO, as required, in the White Rose Field.
Duties will include ICSS changes and maintenance. Maintain integrity and perform safe and efficient maintenance of all Control Safety System equipment in accordance with Cenovus Energy Polices and Procedures, Regulatory requirements, and offshore industry standards, to achieve established objectives in the most productive, cost effective and safest manner possible.
Ensuring all work control processes are adhered to daily (i.e., Permit to Work).
Assisting in executing the weekly Maintenance Plan.
Performing and recording maintenance activities and subsequent technical reporting as required by the planned maintenance system.
Maintain open communication between SeaRose and the Platform with a clear understanding of the management of change process related to facility interaction.
Implement protective safety systems isolations and prepare equipment for maintenance/inspection.
Assisting Production & Maintenance Supervisor to identify priorities to plan maintenance and shutdown activities to minimize downtime and maximize production.
This role maintains the Autronica, Fire & Gas Detection, Emergency Shutdown of the Facility, Process Control, Power Management, Integration of packages, data storage and reporting systems.
Carrying out fault finding and diagnosis of problems affecting plant and systems taking corrective actions to anticipate and prevent downtime and thus maximize oil and gas production. Performs breakdown repairs whenever required. Investigate all plant upsets via control logic, make recommendations based on finding, ensuring proper adherence to Cenovus Energy\xe2\x80\x99s management of change policy.
Perform all follow up paperwork associated with assigned preventive and corrective maintenance procedures to ensure all personnel are aware of any deficiencies or equipment malfunctions that may adversely affect production or impede any safety system.
Assisting in preparing and submitting requirements for spares and proposals for modifications, and in identifying appropriate stock levels and ensuring they are maintained at an optimum operational level.
Assisting in the supervision of contract ICSS support
Carrying out risk assessment and field level hazard analysis where required.
Regularly reviewing and monitoring compliance with safe work systems and maintenance procedures.
Follow ICSS Management of Change procedures to ensure proper management of ICSS software and workflow.
Participate in emergency response (ER) activities and training as required and/or requested. Act as member of helideck team where required. Attend all safety related training.
Support in maintaining IS equipment
Assist onshore IS Team to ensure all systems are maintained as required.
Perform housekeeping duties in work area.
Qualifications:
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Must have a valid passport and be eligible to work across borders
Instrumentation Technologist/Trade Certification (with Inter-provincial status if from out of Province), Electronics Technology, Combination of skills and experience.
Training as required by CAPP Standard Practice for Training and Qualifications of Personnel, other regulatory requirements, and company required training as per the approved Training and Competency Matrix
5 years related experience in an upstream oil and gas industry, offshore experience preferred.
