to provide registration, orientation, information, settlement plans, referrals, follow-ups and re-assessments to ISANS clients. Reporting to the Supervisor, Reception & Intake, who reports to the Manager, Community Integration Services, this position is responsible to:
Conduct initial needs assessment interview with new clients as they register for ISANS services (evening availability as needed)
Provide basic settlement information and orientation
Link clients to federal and provincial programs and provide information on how to access these programs
Develop action plans to achieve personal settlement goals that reflect immediate, short- and long-term settlement needs
Facilitate access to services by providing a link between clients with specific settlement needs and available resources at ISANS and in the community
Make referrals to ISANS staff and service providers working with newcomers
Follow up with clients to see how they are progressing with their referrals and Settlement Plans
Meet with registered clients for a reassessment session when their status or needs change, providing updated information and referrals as needed
Provide information and guidance to ISANS staff and other service providers, communities and agencies as requested
Input data into databases, e.g. NewOrg, iCare, LaMPPS etc and generate timely reports as needed
Respond to general inquiries from clients and potential clients.
General responsibilities:
Record all relevant client information on databases in a consistent and timely manner as appropriate to the position.
Provide information as required for internal/external reports, proposals, grants etc.
Attend regular Staff Meetings and Team meetings
Review and adhere to ISANS workplace health and safety policies
Attend and provide support at ISANS events

The ideal candidates for these positions will have the following:
Education:
Bachelors Degree or
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted
Counselling Certificate an asset
Experience:
2 years' experience in a similar position
Experience working in a cross-cultural environment; experience delivering direct service to immigrants preferred
Experience delivering service to clients face to face and/or online
Experience in counselling and conflict resolution considered an asset
Knowledge:
Knowledge of local activities, programs and community organizations that serve the immigrant population
Strong understanding of immigration categories and the general streams
Knowledge of Temporary Foreign Worker status and immigration process
Skills:
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong time management and organization skills
Ability to stay up to date on immigration processes/changes
Proficient with MS Office applications and NewOrg
Additional languages an asset
