The Central Alberta FASD Network (CAFASD) is a non-profit organization offering community-based, cost-free programming for individuals impacted by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), their caregivers and the community. We offer education, prevention, assessment and diagnosis, and support services. We are seeking to fill a new full-time position for the Intake Coordinator/Administrative Assistant blended position.
Job Summary:
Based out of the Red Deer office, the Intake Coordinator/Administrative Assistant will be the first point of contact for clients accessing CAFASD. This role will support referrals for adults, adolescents and children who are looking to enroll in our following programs: Community Outreach, PCAP (Parent-Child Assistance Program), Restorative Justice, and FASD Diagnostic Clinic. The Intake Coordinator/Administrative Assistant will also be responsible for administrative support for the Executive Director.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, self-initiating professional with excellent skills in data entry and
Microsoft Office
including Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint . In addition to solid computer and technical skills, our successful candidate will possess outstanding public relations skills with a strong work ethic, professional demeanor, and the ability to collaborate in a team environment. Displaying a service orientation, our candidate will display a high degree or organization, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritization of deadlines and deliverables. Data management and entry, basic accounting functions and liaison functions with clients, staff and the public are all central to this role.
Summary of Duties:
Act as first point of contact for the Central Alberta FASD Network intake, phone line and website inquiries.
Complete referral screening process and determine eligibility for FASD specific services and/or refers individuals to other appropriate community services.
Provide temporary support to individuals, adolescents, and children who are on the waitlist to receive CAFASD community-based services.
Provide administrative support to the Executive Director and staff.
Arrange meetings, board presentations, and travel arrangements.
Assist with preparing meeting agendas, materials, and preparing meeting minutes.
Assist with basic Human Resources and Accounting duties.
Prepare and edit documents, reports, presentations, and correspondence.
Handle filing, mail, scanning, and fax duties.
Maintain and order office supplies.
This position reports to the Executive Director.
Education and Qualifications:
Administrative or business type diploma and/or an undergraduate degree/diploma in social work, social science, or related field equivalent combination of experience and education.
Strong technical skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint), including the ability to create, edit, and manage documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and email.
Creating, managing, and editing documents through Adobe PDF/Acrobat.
Minimum of 2 years work experience with vulnerable, marginalized or at-risk populations.
Knowledge regarding disabilities, mental health and addictions.
Commitment to a strength-based, client-centred approach.
Superior communication ability and interpersonal skills.
High level of personal integrity and ethical practice.
High degree of cultural awareness.
Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple priorities, and tight timelines.
Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule.
A reliable vehicle and valid class 5 driver's license.
The position is 35 hours/week, Monday - Friday; flexibility will be required.
