As the captive finance company of the Audi, Ducati and Volkswagen brands in Canada, VW Credit Canada, Inc., also known as Audi Finance and Volkswagen Finance, is a wholly owned subsidiary of VW Credit, Inc. Audi Finance and Volkswagen Finance offers a wide range of leasing, retail financing and protection plans expertly tailored to meet the needs of our Customers. Additionally, we provide commercial financing products to Audi and Volkswagen Dealers to support expanding dealership capabilities and enhancing overall operations.

ROLE SUMMARY

The Insurance Performance and Planning Analyst will be responsible for providing detailed reporting, forecasting and financial analysis to management for co-evaluation of business performance and financial results relating to the insurance business. This role also ensures Protection Plan products` Pricing and Investment Income are properly controlled through analysis, as well as through budgeting, approvals, and alignment with the corporate strategy.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Performance / Pricing

  • Provide analytical support, financial performance and pricing review for Audi Finance/Volkswagen Finance Protection Plans product suite and insurance product business development.
  • Develop pricing-based financial statement projections (written vs. earned premiums, reserve calculations, investment income, etc.). Review monthly Actuals with an eye for pricing relationships and impacts. Reconcile and/or conduct variance reporting as necessary. Adjust models accordingly.
  • Collaborate with various business units to regularly test and confirm or update key assumptions. Proactively research and back-test outcomes to ensure reliable and predictive pricing models.
  • Analyze and approve MPRs and dealer incentives relating to the Audi Finance/Volkswagen Finance Insurance business
  • Communicate with Volkswagen Financial Services Germany regarding financial reporting requirements and analysis. Prepare and present Insurance pricing-related content for Business Financial Reviews and 5-year Planning Rounds.
  • Communicate directly with senior management as required, including the preparation and presentation of complex subject matter.
  • Document all processes and procedures to facilitate cross-development and mitigate business risks.
Planning and Reporting
  • Work with the Planning & Reporting Analyst to coordinate profit planning.
  • Development, coordination and presentation of all financial reporting and analyses: monthly forecast, annual budget and 5-year planning round for Insurance business.
  • Develop Insurance business planning assumptions and schedule in coordination with multiple relevant colleagues, and with an eye for interdependencies.
  • Support Audi Finance/Volkswagen Finance leadership and Volkswagen Financial Services Germany by providing detailed financial analysis of business results including recommendations regarding planning objectives with regard to Audi Finance/Volkswagen Finance's Insurance business.
  • Review monthly financial statements of the Insurance business.
  • Prepare Insurance section of Business Financial Review (BFR) presentations, including pertinent and clear explanations.
  • Review preliminary month-end reporting. Consult with and advise Controlling and Accounting teams.
  • Coordinate financial data and timing requirements with multiple internal departments.
  • Develop and implement key Insurance business budget metrics for the corporate and regional offices.
  • Develop and present ad-hoc financial analysis upon request
Qualifications EXPERIENCE
  • 4+ years professional financial, accounting or actuarial experience
  • Desired - Prior automotive finance or Insurance experience
EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative science
