Insulator Pipe/ductwork

Job Description

The Insulator is responsible for installing and replacing insulation materials in buildings and mechanical systems to help control and maintain temperature, prevent energy loss, reduce noise, and protect against fire or moisture. This role requires knowledge of insulation techniques, materials, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:



Measure and cut insulation materials to the required size and shape. Install insulation on piping, ductwork, walls, floors, ceilings, or mechanical systems using hand and power tools. Apply weatherproofing or protective coverings (e.g., vapor barriers, jacketing). Seal gaps and joints with tape, cement, or sealants to ensure maximum efficiency. Work safely on ladders, scaffolding, or confined spaces. Follow all company and regulatory safety protocols, including proper use of PPE. Remove old or damaged insulation when required (may include handling hazardous materials such as asbestos, with appropriate training). Collaborate with other trades and construction team members on job sites.

Qualifications:



High school diploma or GED preferred. Knowledge of insulation materials, installation techniques, and building codes. Ability to follow technical instructions. Physically fit and able to work in varying weather conditions or confined spaces. Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 44 per week
