to support the daily operations of our new gas processing plant,
field and existing infrastructure
in the Alhambra and Leafland area near Rocky Mountain House, AB. (Will consider Instrumentation Certificate/Red Seal with option of obtaining Electrical Certification in the future) While reporting to the Maintenance Foreman, the ideal candidate will play a key role in the preplanning and design reviews, dry and wet commissioning, start-up, and maintenance of the facility while ensuring all systems are running efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulatory standards. We are forecasting this facility to be onstream in Q3 of 2025 and with this area being a focal point of Paramount Operations, this Region will continue be an area of growth and development for several years to come.
The successful candidate will reside within 70 kilometers of Leslieville, AB.
Job functions will involve:
Environment, Health and Safety must be a priority
Support Maintenance Foreman in delivery of professional support services to Operations
Support and initiate safe work practices; following all Paramount policies and procedures
Instrumentation and Electrical maintenance and trouble-shooting of oilfield and plant control equipment (pneumatic and electronic)
Preventative maintenance on shutdowns, gas detection, measurement equipment, and controls as related to gas facilities, field batteries, satellites, gas and oil wells
Calibrate, troubleshoot and repair SCADA systems, including Bristol, Fisher, Barton
Maintain a high standard of workmanship, safety awareness and housekeeping
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
Must possess a valid Alberta Journeyman Instrumentation & Electrician Certificate or Interprovincial Red Seal equivalent (Will consider Instrumentation Certificate/Red Seal with option of obtaining Electrical Certification in the future)
Minimum 5 years' experience in a related role
Knowledge of operations (sweet and sour) in areas of plant, field, construction, pipelines or a combination
Carry out preventative maintenance checks on selected electrical equipment
Provide technical leadership in Instrumentation/Electrical matters
Experience with SCADA installations and PLC programming on equipment
Good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs. Must be able to learn, adhere and work with all Paramount based software programs
Experience with Maximo or other CMMS system would be an asset
Ability to troubleshoot variable frequency drives
Experience with 480V/4160V motor control centers
Experience with pump jack controllers including SAMs
Experience working with/programming SCADA packs
Competent in standard computer operations
Coordinate daily personal work activities to ensure weekly maintenance plant and operations objectives are achieved
Maintain records and drawings
Maintain a high standard of workmanship, safety awareness and housekeeping
Supervise contract electricians/instrumentation technicians
Highly motivated, able to work in a team environment
Strong commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment.
Self-starter who is able to work independently with a minimal supervision
Strong troubleshooting and decision making skills
Valid Class 5 driver's license and valid safety tickets including First Aid, H2S, WHMIS, and TDG
Ability to work within deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Technical Skills
:
Strong understanding of gas processing equipment and processes, Delta V & Factory Talk Plant PAX, and SCADA systems
HAZOP reviews including Proficiency in reading P&IDs, schematics, and technical drawings
Good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs. Must be able to learn, adhere and work with all Paramount based software programs including Maximo for WO generation, tracking, MOC documentation and all HSE and incident tracking
Will be required to work 8 days on and 6 days off shift (10 hour days). Must be willing to be on call and work overtime when required
Leadership
: Proven leadership and strong communication skills to support teams and collaborate across departments
Problem Solving
: Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities in high-pressure situations. Maintain composure in an active and dynamic work environment
Communication
: Must be able to effectively communicate with Team members, ensuring all key stakeholders are kept up informed on Maintenance concerns that may impact Safety and Production.
