We are looking for a qualified
Instrumentation Technician
for a
12 months-contract
to join our growing team. Working under the supervision of the Instrumentation Manager, this candidate will provide technical support to ensure Testmark's software and hardware testing infrastructure is optimized and maintained to meet the company's laboratory testing needs. Working primarily from our instrumentation hub in Sturgeon Falls, ON, with some travel as required to service Testmark's other facilities, general duties for this position include:
Sourcing equipment and obtaining quotations from vendors.
Shipping and receiving equipment (ability to lift up to 50 lbs)
Maintaining inventory control
Installing, testing, debugging and troubleshooting various pieces of laboratory instrumentation
Assisting with the reconfiguration and optimization of laboratory equipment
Diagnosing and repairing instrumentation to support laboratory production schedules
Performing calibrations on laboratory equipment by following SOP's
Performing preventative maintenance tasks as required and training others in that capacity
Ensuring proper documentation of ongoing projects (diagrams, schematics, process charting, methodology etc.)
This position requires critical thinking in the application of instrumentation diagnosis, repair and maintenance. It requires an ability to collaborate on efforts but also self-organize and manage timelines and projects in an independent manner. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent technical abilities in the following areas:
Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams
Ability to troubleshoot PC hardware and networks
Ability to troubleshoot to the board level utilizing bench top equipment
Experience with thru hole and surface mount soldering
Experience with instrumentation and robotics in a laboratory setting an asset
Experience with Microsoft Operating Systems Installations and Configuration
Minimum Education
College Technician or Technology Diploma in Instrumentation/Electronics or related field
Experience
Minimum 3-5 years relevant work experience (apprenticeship included)
Due to the travel requirements involved, the candidate must possess a valid Ontario Driver's License (G level)
