NVIT anticipates a need for a Term Instructor within the Bachelor of Social Work program and invites applications from qualified candidates. The NVIT BSW degree program is the only Indigenous-centered BSW program in BC, this will be a sessional term opportunity. This course offering will commence in September 2025 during the Fall semester.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Possess a minimum of a Master's of Social Work Degree (MSW), Doctorate preferred PhD Minimum of two years of teaching experience at a college or university level Experience in classroom teaching and learning practices with Indigenous adult learners Demonstrated experience and knowledge in Indigenous social work theory, policy and practice Strong team player with excellent human relation skills - faculty members are expected to contribute positively to the life of the school and community Ability to develop strong connections to Indigenous social service agencies and communities Experience in Hybrid Learning platforms including Moodle, Teams, and Microsoft Office. Practice from a holistic, culturally safe and trauma-informed lens; Knowledge of and appreciation for Indigenous languages and cultures, and Indigenous lived experiences; Proven ability to build collaborative working relationships to achieve outcomes in the best interest of students and NVIT; A demonstrated commitment to quality service to students and the public;
