POSITION TYPE:

Full-Time Position Available

SALARY

: $63,375 - $96,946 per annum
The successful candidate with a Masters or PhD in a related field will receive an Educational Supplement of $2,850 or $5,700 per annum, respectively, pro-rated on an hourly basis.

DUTIES



Reporting to the Chair of Veterinary Technology, Red River College Polytechnic is looking for instructors to teach in the Veterinary Technology Program. This position includes online classroom instruction, supervision and guidance of students, formative and summative student evaluation, advising of students, maintenance of student records and other professional duties related to instruction. This position also includes assisting with minor surgical procedures including pre/post operative animal care with other personnel and students in the Veterinary Technology program. As an instructor, you will facilitate practical and applied learning, provide meaningful feedback informed by extensive Veterinary medicine experience, and ensure an active and engaging learning environment. The incumbent is also required to participate in department and College committees and assist in student orientation and graduation activities.



REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS




Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or Diploma in Veterinary Technology or Animal Health Technology Current licensure and registration with appropriate regulatory body (Manitoba Veterinary Medical Association and/or Manitoba Veterinary Technologist Association) Recent and relevant clinical experience (including routine small animal surgical experience) Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes Excellent verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in small or large group settings Demonstrated leadership skills Effective presentation skills with ability to present material to diverse groups with the use of appropriate technology Ability to teach on campus and remotely Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS




Experience developing curriculum and instructing in post-secondary education Certificate in Teaching for Learning or Adult Education Experience developing and instructing distance delivered courses including on-line Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver blended (synchronous and asynchronous) instruction Experience in avian, exotic, and/or large animal care

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT




Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends This position may be required to work throughout the academic year including the summer months Instructors are required to complete the Teaching for Learning (TFL) in Applied Education program or have previously completed the Certificate in Adult Education (CAE) May be required to work at various RRC Polytech campuses
