We are looking for a part-time

Instructor

; an energetic individual with an engaging personality who believes in our philosophy of learning and innovating in a fun environment. Our coaches are the lifeblood of our operation. You will join our dedicated team of coaches to teach coding and robotics to students in grades 1 to 12.

Do you enjoy inspiring kids and building problem solving skills in young engineering minds? Do you have experience working with children as a camp counsellor or tutor? This could be the role for you!

What you'll do:



Teach coding and robotics to kids aged 6 to 17 in our after school and/or weekend weekly classes at our downtown Toronto school location; with an option to also teach at school workshops, as well as PA Day, March break and summer camps. Create a positive and safe environment where innovation is encouraged. Assist students with their learning through problem solving and exploration. Track student progress and provide ongoing feedback to students and parents. During camps, lead STEM inspired fun camp activities to compliment core robotics and coding lessons. Assist with office administrative duties as required.

Qualifications:



Excellent oral communication Upbeat, energetic, dedicated and works independently Ability to inspire and lead others Experience working with children aged 6 to 17; previous teaching, tutoring or camp counselor experience is an asset Background in computer science, software or mechanical engineering is preferred Proficient in Python, C#, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and/or Java Experience in science, technology and/or math a plus Knowledge of Scratch programming, Minecraft Education, Roblox Studio and/or Unity a plus Good listener and strong interpersonal skills Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial workplace environment and is able adapt to change Pre-employment background check is required (no cost)

What we offer:



Our passion for teaching extends to our coaches. You will be provided with comprehensive training of our coding and robotics curriculum and tools to further develop your technical skillset. You'll also be mentored by our senior coaches through on-the-job learning to compliment your technical expertise with soft-skills training inside the classroom. You will also have an opportunity to teach at on-site and/or off-site school workshops, in addition to camps on PA days, March break and in the summer. There is some flexibility with your working hours depending on the weekly class schedule and your availability. Must be available on one or more weekdays from 3:30pm to 7pm (preferably on Tuesdays and Thursdays). This position is based at our downtown Toronto school location.
