About this Opportunity



Location:

Waterloo, ON - 15 Willow Street

This role will require the applicant to work with clients in-person. Specific locations for in-person work include our Waterloo centre (15 Willow Street, Waterloo), and home and community-based locations in the Waterloo Region (Waterloo, Kitchener, Cambridge) and surrounding areas. Providing service virtually may also be required.

Job Type and Schedule:

- Part Time / Full Time - Approximately 15-35 hours/week, Monday to Friday

Please note that this is an hourly position, and there is no guaranteed minimum number of hours per week. Your caseload will inform your weekly schedule. We will work with you to build a caseload that will inform your weekly schedule. You must be available for regular hours of operation, spread out across weekday mornings, afternoons, and evenings.

Compensation and Benefits:

$24-31 per hour, extended health care

Instructor Therapists are paid at an hour rate, according to their position, related full years of work experience, and job qualifications. There are two levels of Instructor Therapists: Instructor Therapist (Level 1) primarily works in-centre, with occasional work as directed in-home or at other locations. Instructor Therapist (Level 2) works a blended schedule in-centre and in-home.

Retention bonus incentives offered at the end of your first and second year of employment

Eligible for all employment standards defined in the Employment Standards Act (including but not limited to Employment Insurance, Canadian Pension Plan, holiday pay, vacation pay, and unpaid leaves of absence).

A Declaration of Conditions of Employment (T220 E 15) form may be submitted for approval annually, to deduct a variety of employment expenses.

Full time employees enrolled in a private health service plan (PHSP) through Brock Health Administration Ltd., after completing a satisfactory 3-month probationary review.

Supervision available for those working towards their BCBA certification or registration with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO).

More About You



The role of 'Instructor Therapist' includes a variety of direct and indirect responsibilities and tasks, related to the practice of Applied Behaviour Analysis, as defined as "the implementation and delivery of interventions derived from the principles of behaviour in order to produce meaningful improvements" (Psychology and Applied Behaviour Analysis Act, 2021). Specific areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

Assessment and Service Planning Direct Therapy Tasks Indirect Therapy Tasks Team Member Training and Feedback

Essential for the Role:



At least 1 year of experience working with children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) At least 1 year of experience providing ABA Therapy Experience working with a wide range of client ages and profiles, including neurodiverse clients from 2-18+ years old and members of their family (ex. parents, siblings) Introductory knowledge of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and other behaviour-based approaches to counselling and mental health is considered an asset Basic knowledge and application of skill-based treatment (SBT) procedures and Universal Protocols is considered an asset Appropriate use, of and competency with relevant technology (ex. Microsoft Word and Excel, Google Drive, Google Docs and Sheets, Apple products such as iPads and Macs), and the ability to learn to use practice management software (ex. Clockify)

2 professional references Completion of an Autism and Behavioural Science program, similar post-secondary or post-graduate course sequence, or a 40-hour RBT course recognized by the BACB Police Vulnerable Sector Check (completed within 6 months) Professional liability insurance Full vaccination against COVID-19 (2 doses) First Aid and CPR Training Valid crisis management certification is considered an asset (preferences given to those with experience with Safe Management Training) Valid Ontario driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle, with two-million-liability car insurance
